In the first seven months of the year 2010, Ventspils Port handled 15.68 million tons of cargo, which is by 1.5 million tons or 8.73% less when compared to the first seven months of 2009, according to LETA archives.
The port handled 8.69 million tons of liquid cargo in the first seven months of the year, LETA was informed by the Ventspils Port Authority.
On the other hand, the port also handled 5.85 million tons of bulk cargo in the first seven months of the year, which is 32% or 1.41 million tons more when compared to the same period last year.
Furthermore, Ventspils Port also handled 340,000 tons of general cargo in the first seven months, reaching 1.14 million tons.
The port has also serviced a total of 10,354 ferry passengers in the first seven months of the year, which is 22% more when compared to last year.
